BIA MARIA

Bia Maria.png

Bia Maria’s debut album marks a turning point between her early sonic roots—somewhere between folk singing, fado, and bossa nova—and a new hunger for the world. Emerging from this shift is a whirlwind of ideas that contrast with everything she’s explored before.

“Qualquer um pode cantar” is a community-driven pop album, a collection of 10 songs that embody her motto of “escreviver” (writing to live). With sharp, insightful lyrics, the album voices not only her personal longings but also those of a generation of women searching for their place in adulthood.

Bia Maria describes it as “an album for all voices, where singing is expression, strength, and embrace.” This first full-length release follows three EPs: “Mal Me Queres, Bem Te Quero” (2019), “Tradição” (2020), and “do Roberto” (2022).

MARTA LIMA

Music has been part of Marta Lima’s life from an early age. She began studying at the Academia de Música de Lagos at age 5, learning drums, piano, and guitar. Though she pursued degrees in Public Administration and International Relations, she later put academia on hold to follow her true passion, enrolling in Jazz studies at Hot Clube Portugal.

In 2023, she released her debut EP, “Murmúrio”, and played over 30 concerts, gaining public and critical attention. Highlights include performances at NOS Alive, Festival F, opening for Vitor Kley, and a duet with Buba Espinho.

In 2024, she opened for Os Quatro e Meia, performed at Teatro Amélia Rey Colaço alongside Joana Alegre, Mila Dores, Elisa Rodrigues, and Tainá, and released the acclaimed single “Passos Marcados”, with airplay on Antena 1, Antena 3, and TSF. Now, she presents her second EP, “Postal em Branco”, available on all digital platforms

João Couto.png

JOÃO COUTO

João Couto is a singer, songwriter, and producer. Influenced by synth-pop artists like Carly Rae Jepsen and Bleachers, as well as Portuguese pop-rock icons Clã and David Fonseca, his music blends honest lyrics with infectious melodies. For him, “pop music is a safe place”, creating a sense of belonging and joy.

His new album, Efeito Submarino, mostly recorded at home in the summer of 2024, marks a new chapter in his career. Self-produced, with collaborations from João Borsch and Ben Monteiro (D’Alva), it is his most personal work yet, set for release in early 2025. Since winning Ídolos in 2015, João has released two albums, including the acclaimed Boa Sorte (2021), and in 2023, he toured with the concert series “Canções Sobre o Meu Carro e o Quarto”, supported by Antena 1. In 2024, he returned to Festival da Canção as a songwriter and performer with “Quarto para Um”, chosen from over 800 entries, and was listed among IMPALA Music’s 100 Artists to Watch.

Too Many Suns.png

TOO MANY SUNS

In 2018, friends Hugo Hugon (guitar and vocals) and João Cardoso (drums) formed Too Many Suns. Their journey began in a studio in Anjos, where they quickly created five tracks for their debut EP, Garden, produced with Gonçalo Formiga from Cave Story. With bassist Vasco Rato joining, the band recorded their first LP, released in October 2020 in digital and cassette formats. The album contrasts light and shadow, blending introspective folk, springtime pop, and grunge noise.

In 2021, the band released the EP Quiet, mixed by André Isidro at DuckTape Melodies studio, exploring new sounds inspired by the stillness of recent years. In 2022, Simão Reis joined on guitar and keys, expanding their sonic horizons. The music created in 2023-2024 will culminate in their second full album, Reverie, to be released under the new label Reverie Records, established in 2023 to support independent projects.

Following their first single Gold, the band released My Baby Goodbye, recorded at WAAHS studios with Ulpiano Capalbo and produced by André Isidro.

STAND UP

The night doesn’t stop there! We’re also bringing the laughter with stand-up comedy performances by Tomás Matos, Fi, and Hélder Machado, delivering sketches specially tailored to the world of music festivals. As stand-up comedy becomes a more common feature at music festivals, we feel it’s essential to give this art form a stage in an event that, above all, celebrates culture in Portugal.

On March 21st, join us for a unique gathering filled with inspiring conversations, valuable insights, trend discoveries, new knowledge, and plenty of networking!

FI

Fi is a comedian deeply rooted in Lisbon. She uses words like “deeply rooted” to sound more erudite, but ruins it all with the color of her hair. She’s used to answering the question “what’s it like being a woman in comedy?” and hearing long explanations from her peers about it.

She’s been performing for a year and a half in bars and comedy clubs in Lisbon, where she fills quotas with excellence. She’s also great at filling the void left by her father with wine, and endlessly talking about her dachshund. Oops, another fancy word. She organizes a monthly stand-up comedy night in the last commercial space in Campo de Ourique where French isn’t spoken.

She has a beautiful, amazing, strange dachshund that smells like Cheetos on its perfect, short little paws, which were surely designed by a Renaissance painter.

HÉLDER MACHADO

Hélder Machado, a dangerous pistol to his friends, comes from Barreiro and uses stand-up as a way to expose his reality!

He feels more comfortable surrounded by people laughing, which is why he chose to do stand-up instead of rap.

4_Tomás Matos.png

TOMÁS MATOS

Tomás Matos is a stand-up comedian based in Porto. He is one of the smallest promises in national humor, and in the words of his own grandmother, a “gem of a young man.” He began dedicating himself to comedy in 2019, a great time to start, as in 2020 the pandemic hit and prevented him from embarrassing himself further.

After Covid ended, he returned with more maturity, and since then, he’s been a regular presence in Porto’s stand-up circuit, having performed at notable events such as Porto Comedy Fest, Festival Rir na Ria, and Queima das Fitas do Porto, the latter both as an artist and a consumer. His humor style is quite versatile, covering a wide range of formats, from storytelling to nonsense, one-liners, observational humor, and everyday life humor.
